The Glass Works Case Study
The Glass Works is an exciting new destination that offers visitors shopping, restaurants, a cinema and a bowling alley.
Brief
Project development management company Queensberry wanted to keep Barnsley’s new £210m town centre regeneration programme in the headlines via original journalism and inspirational story-telling. So impressed was Barnsley Council, we now continue to work directly with the in-house marketing team.
Our Activity
We work with Barnsley Council’s in-house marketing teams to raise the profile of the town - and its new shopping area - as a retail, food and leisure destination.
Results
Over the years, we’ve told the story of Barnsley’s renaissance and captured the attention of journalists, viewers, listeners and readers. We’ve brought news crews from ITV, Channel Four and BBC to Barnsley and flown the flag for the region at every opportunity. The Glass Works project has been so widely publicised and well received, visitor numbers continue to grow. Barnsley is achieving record footfall figures, events are growing in size and reputation, and the borough’s transformation is being noticed across the UK.
Testimonial
“We needed to raise awareness of The Glass Works ahead of, and during, the opening to local and regional audiences. Having tried various strategies, we were looking for a different approach and we weren’t disappointed. It was easy to work with the team, who were flexible, approachable, and personable. They know which stories the media will pick up and they also have good relationships with the key journalists. This helped enormously and we were very pleased with the outcome. A small, professional, and personable team, who are results focused and who genuinely want to help.”
