British Glass Case Study
As the representative body for the UK industry, British Glass communicates the glass sector’s values and interests to secure a thriving and sustainable future.
Brief
British Glass required media training for its senior team, including its Chief Executive. The team had different levels of media experience and journalists were increasingly calling on the CEO for comment over the energy crisis and the impact on intensive energy users in glass industry. British Glass wanted to build confidence and skills in the wider team, so the organization was able to offer journalists even more media commentary.
Our Activity
We devised a half day theory-led training programme for senior managers with practical tips and techniques. This included crisis communications. We led a workshop in which managers discussed their own experiences to boost confidence.
Results
British Glass is now sharing interviews among its top team and is able to provide even more expert opinion and comment to journalists. We continue to work with British Glass. Most recently, we’ve led a major trade and consumer campaign about the government’s pEPR scheme which will significantly impact UK glass manufacturing, jobs, prices and imports.
Testimonial
“We had a great experience with Altitude. Their expertise was invaluable in explaining the principles of media handling, offering participants the tools and tactics to successfully navigate interviews with the media and offering advice on our own pressing needs. Everyone who attended came away from the session with the confidence they would need to feel comfortable facing the media going forward.”
