St Luke’s - Sheffield’s Hospice Case Study

St Luke’s – Sheffield’s Hospice cares for people aged 18 and above who have terminal illnesses. It aims to control their symptoms, alleviate pain, and give them the best possible quality of life – all free of charge.

Brief

Altitude was introduced to St Luke’s to provide additional communications support to help bolster the activities of its existing communications team. By outsourcing key projects to Altitude, the team was able to clear a backlog of activity and use existing resources to plan for the future.

Our Activity

Altitude worked closely with the communications team and other departments to work on specific HR, Clinical, Retail and Fundraising projects. We provided PR support, design assistance, social media support and even brokered new relationships for the charity.

The work included promoting fundraising events, clinical service events, and new store openings, as well as the production of event collateral, social media planners, internal documents and internal logos.

Results

Altitude provided strategic support while generating positive media coverage in regional and charity sector media. We brokered relationships with new stakeholders and assisted the wider communications team in completing internal and external projects.

We now continue to work on a retained basis, assisting the team with wider media opportunities as well as on ad hoc projects.

Testimonial

“Altitude provided additional support to our internal Marketing & Communications team and helped us to refine our key messaging and launch strategy for a new concept store which launched in 2023. The launch was a huge success and some of the launch strategies have opened the doors to new and exciting partnerships for us as an organisation!  Thank you to all the team at Altitude that was involved with this project.”

Marie Egerton,
Head of Retail at St Luke’s – Sheffield’s Hospice.
